When you text a pilot how do you get it so that it is in the format of :
AAL123, <your message>
without you having to type in the aircraft's callsign?

Same as with VRC ... radio select the callsign, then just type your message and hit enter.

seems I can't just mouse click on an aircraft. I have to type the callsign and hit the asel key.

That's correct. That is intentional because you might want to keep one text-only aircraft radio selected while you work with other aircraft.

Multiple text pilots can become a problem. Not to mention a tower trainer session.

I actually find the keyboard the fastest way to select a pilot when running a TWRTrainer session or dealing with multiple text pilots. I can type the digits and press the ASEL key faster than I can find the target on the scope and click it.

If you're primarily a mouse person, I'd suggest using VRC. Smile
